About Us

The Foodie Kitchen is a family-led teaching kitchen and Community Interest Company based in Rochdale, founded on a passion for food, learning and community. We deliver hands-on cooking classes, private experiences, kitchen hire, and funded community projects designed to build confidence, skills and opportunity through food.

Seema, Founder, Education has always been a transformative force in my life. What began as a teenage love of academia grew into a successful career in further education spanning more than twenty years. During this time, I worked with a wide range of stakeholders, from grassroots teams to senior leaders and external regulators such as Ofsted, supporting and promoting improvements in education. As Centre Director for Lifelong Learning, I gained extensive teaching and leadership experience, overseeing curriculum, quality and learner experience across both mainstream and specialist provision. This included cross-college English and Maths, ESOL, Foundation Learning (SEND and NEETs), Teacher Education, Community Learning, Access to Higher Education, A Levels and subcontracted provision.

In March 2021, after experiencing the powerful impact of coaching through a management development programme at Hopwood Hall College with FE Associates, I qualified as an Executive Coach. That experience changed the trajectory of my life and inspired me to help others grow and succeed. Alongside my passion for education, I have always loved food, which ultimately led to my current venture, The Foodie Kitchen. What started as informal sessions teaching colleagues how to cook authentic curry evolved into the realisation of my ideal role. Today, The Foodie Kitchen is a happy, thriving and inclusive space for the community—bringing together my passions for learning, connection and great food.

At the heart of The Foodie Kitchen is a mother-and-daughter team.
Alisha, our Sous Chef and Facilitator, plays a key role in delivering classes and supporting community programmes, creating a calm and encouraging environment for learners.
Anisah, our Chef and Social Media Lead, combines her love of cooking and creativity to support classes while sharing our work and inspiring others through our online platforms.
Together, we are proud to create a welcoming space where people feel supported, inspired and capable.

As a Community Interest Company, our work extends beyond the kitchen. We partner with schools, charities and community organisations to deliver funded projects that empower people, particularly young people, with essential life skills.

Whether you join us for a class, hire our kitchen, or take part in a project, you are part of something special: This balance of professionalism and purpose makes The Foodie Kitchen truly unique.
Food with purpose. Community with heart.
